Sunday 14th November 2010 Grosvenor House, Park Lane Dress Code:Black Tie Book Tickets now The very first Variety Club Showbiz Awards was held back in 1952 when Jean Carson was awarded “Best Musical Comedy Star." Over the years, there has been an impressive and glittering parade of the best that is showbiz from film to comedy, from music to theatre and television and from best newcomer to lifetime achievement. Over the last few years, we have been privileged to see the likes of Al Pacino, Ricky Gervais, Katherine Jenkins, Keira Knightley, Spandau Ballet and Sir Ian McKellen accept our Silver Hearts with such relish.
With such a glamorous line up, this event has become a very hot ticket and every year it has been a sell out. You really need to secure your tickets as soon as possible. We are delighted to be back in the fabulous Great Room at Grosvenor House in London’s Park Lane where we will lavish you with a delicious feast and the very best entertainment. Again, we are thrilled that the show will be broadcast by FIVE and a huge thank you goes out to our friend and co-chair, Channel Controller Richard Woolfe, for his incredibly generous support and to Michael Leggo and his team who will be producing this glittering showbiz extravaganza.
Over the last few years, we have welcomed corporate partners into the fold and I would like to thank our event sponsor, The Co-operative, for all their generous support. I would also like to thank our other sponsors for their fantastic contribution namely The Daily Mirror, Classic FM, Danepak and The Caron Keating Foundation.
Finally, we must not forget that Variety Club exists to enhance the lives of sick, disabled and disadvantaged children throughout the UK. This event raises the profile of our work and the money raised on the evening will go a long way to giving those children a better life. So come and celebrate with Variety Club and help us help a child.
